Read the sample sentence and notice how 除非……否则…… works in the frame: 除非 A，否则 B.
除非 introduces the condition that can change the result. 否则 introduces what will happen if that exception is not met. This pattern is common in rules, warnings, and requirements. Do not use 所以 after 除非. Compared with 如果不..., 除非...否则... sounds more formal and highlights the exception more strongly.
