始终 means “from beginning to end” or “all along.” It stresses that a state or attitude stays consistent through an entire period.

Explanation

始终 is used when the whole time span matters. It often modifies 保持, 相信, 坚持, 没有, 不. It is stronger than 一直 because it emphasizes the full process from start to finish. Do not use it for a gradual change; use 逐渐 for that.
