比较 softens an adjective and means the degree is noticeable but not extreme: 比较忙, 比较远, 比较贵. It is often used when giving opinions politely or avoiding sounding too absolute. It does not create a direct comparison by itself; for 'A is more than B,' use 比...更... or 比... adjective. Do not combine 比较 with 最.
