导致 connects a cause with a result, especially a bad result such as problems, delays, illness, mistakes, or losses. It is more result-focused and formal than 因为. Do not use it for happy or neutral outcomes unless the style is very objective. Compared with 造成, 导致 focuses on the chain from cause to result; 造成 emphasizes the damage or situation created.
