未免 is used when the speaker feels a degree is excessive, such as 太早, 太直接, 太严格, 太贵. It is not the same as 难免 or 不免, which mean “hard to avoid.” 未免 usually comments on someone’s action, judgement, or requirement as going too far. It often appears with 太...了.
