从未 means “never before.” It is a formal way to say that something has never happened in past experience.

从未 is used before verbs to express complete negation over past time. It is stronger and more formal than 从来没有. Do not confuse it with 尚未, which means “not yet” and allows the possibility of happening later. 从未 emphasizes that it has never happened up to now.
