课程摘要
大家 means “everyone / all of us” and usually includes the speaker in the group. 别人 means “other people / someone else” and excludes the speaker, often contrasting “me/us” with others.
大家 and 别人 both refer to people, but the key question is: “Am I included?” If yes, use 大家. If no, use 别人.
大家 is used when addressing or describing a whole group: 大家好, 大家请坐, 大家都来了. It can include the speaker when the speaker belongs to the group, as in 我们大家都同意. In greetings, 大家 is also a natural way to address a group even if the speaker is standing in front of them.
别人 means “other people” or “someone else.” It excludes the speaker and often creates a contrast: 别人都去了,只有我没去; 别人的东西不要拿. The possessive 别人的 is very common and means “someone else’s.”
Do not use 大家 when the meaning is “people other than me.” Do not use 别人 when you are included in the group. Also avoid redundant forms like 你们大家 in simple HSK2 sentences; 大家 or 你们 is usually enough.
Compare: 大家都累了 = everyone in the group, including me, is tired. 别人都累了,我不累 = other people are tired, but I am not.
