Potential complements use 得 or 不 between a verb and complement to show whether something can be done successfully.
It is different from 会, which means learned ability. Potential complements often depend on the situation: the writing is too small, the voice is too quiet, or the task is too hard. Questions can use Verb + 得 + Complement + 吗 or the positive-negative form: 看得懂看不懂?
