以 A 为例 means “take A as an example.” Use it to make an explanation clearer with a specific case.

以...为例 introduces a case that represents or illustrates a larger point. A can be a place, person, event, topic, or situation. The clause after it explains what we can see from that example. Do not use it when you are not actually giving an example. Compared with 比如, 以...为例 sounds more structured and is common in explanations, presentations, and writing.

Kesalahan Umum

Breaking the fixed phrase: 北京以为例，冬天很干。Keep 以 before A and 为例 after A: 以北京为例，冬天很干。
Using it without an example: 以为例，我觉得这个办法好。A must be a concrete example: 以这个办法为例，我们可以看到它的优点。

Catatan Penggunaan

This pattern is useful when explaining a general point with one case.
It is more formal than 比如 but often serves the same purpose.
The sentence after it should tell what the example shows.
